What CITB Funding Means for Us
We’ve recently been successful in our application for CITB funding, which allows us to invest more consistently in upskilling across the team.
CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) is a national body that helps construction companies access and afford the training they need. Through their support, we can offer training that might otherwise be harder to justify on smaller margins—particularly for early-career staff or short-notice qualifications.
In short, it means we can say yes to more opportunities for growth, and give our team access to high-quality training without delay.
Training Already Underway
Thanks to the funding and our own commitment to ongoing development, we’ve recently rolled out a number of training initiatives:
• Luke Haine, one of our Site Assistants, is now booked onto a Telehandler course - a practical qualification that will give him more responsibility and confidence on-site.
• Across the wider team, we’re updating First Aid certifications to ensure we’re fully covered on every project, with trained responders on hand if needed.
• We’ve also booked spaces for team members on SSSTS and SMSTS courses, giving them the knowledge and tools to step into more senior roles when the time is right.
Meanwhile, Site Managers like Mike Scammell are working toward their Level 6 Construction Site Management – Building & Civil Engineering qualifications, balancing on-the-job leadership with formal progression.
This isn’t just about ticking boxes. It’s about strengthening the team, raising standards, and giving everyone the chance to move forward.
Looking Ahead
Some of our current builds are now approaching the final stages, and we’re getting ready to hand over homes that reflect months of hard work from the whole team.
At the same time, we’ve got a number of new projects starting soon, and we’re continuing to build the team’s skills to match that growth. Whether it’s helping site assistants take the next step in their training or supporting more experienced staff with formal qualifications, the focus is the same: keep moving forward.
We’re proud of the standard we work to - and proud of the people who make it happen. By investing in our team now and making training a core part of how we work , we’re setting ourselves (and our clients) up for long-term success across every project.
When the team’s progressing, the projects benefit. It’s as simple as that.
