Why Training Matters at MPS
At MPS Building Ltd, we believe the strength of any project lies in the strength of the people behind it. That’s why we continue to invest in training and professional development across the team - ensuring our staff feel confident, supported, and equipped to deliver work to the highest standard.Whether it’s health and safety qualifications, plant training, or site management courses, we’re always looking for opportunities to upskill our people and strengthen our site practices.
Recent Staff Achievements
We’re pleased to share a few recent milestones from within the team:
Anthony Fox has successfully completed his Emergency First Aid Training, an important qualification that helps us maintain a safe and responsive site environment. With certified first aiders on every project, we’re better prepared for the unexpected and able to meet safety requirements across all builds.
Luke Haine has received his CSCS NPORS Trained Operator Card after completing the CITB Telehandler Course. This qualification gives Luke practical experience and certification to operate plant machinery safely - boosting both his skills and his responsibility on site.
Upcoming Courses and Ongoing Training
The training doesn’t stop there. As part of our continued investment in our team, several more team members are booked onto upcoming CITB-accredited courses:
CITB Temporary Works Coordinator Course – Anthony Fox and Rob Payne will soon be attending this two-day course, designed for those managing temporary works on construction sites. It focuses on planning, safety, and ensuring temporary structures (like scaffolding or props) are properly installed and compliant with legal standards.
SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) – Luke Haine and Steve Lillis will be completing this two-day CITB course designed for those in supervisory roles. It covers essential topics like health and safety law, welfare, environmental concerns, and how to lead a safe and responsible site.
Emergency First Aid & Fire Warden Courses
Looking ahead, we’re also booking more Emergency First Aid and Fire Warden training to make sure all members of the MPS team are up to date with essential safety procedures. These qualifications form the backbone of our onsite safety culture and help create an environment where everyone feels confident and protected.A Culture of Growth and Responsibility
For us, training isn’t just about ticking boxes. It’s about building a culture where people are supported to grow, step into new roles, and take pride in the quality of work they deliver. It also means our clients can trust that every person on an MPS site is there for a reason - qualified, capable, and committed to the job. We’re proud of the progress our team continues to make and look forward to celebrating more milestones in the months ahead.
